Oak Island Loggerheaders Name Jaidyn Akers-Bryant Director of Sales and Community Engagement
Oak Island, N.C. — September 1, 2026 — The Oak Island Loggerheads have named Jaidyn Akers-Bryant to Director of Sales and Community Engagement. A Leland native and 2026 graduate of North Carolina State University, Akers-Bryant joined the organization this summer as an Operations Intern, working across sponsorships and guest experience.
In her new role, she will lead the club's sales efforts and serve as its primary presence in the community, building relationships with local businesses, schools, and fans across Brunswick County.
"Getting to work for my hometown team was the biggest draw for me," Akers-Bryant said. "It was a chance to see familiar faces and connect more with the community I grew up in."
Akers-Bryant is a graduate of South Brunswick High School, where she played basketball. She says her first priority is getting in front of the people who keep the team running.
"For me, community engagement is about showing up and being present at local events, building real relationships, and not just putting a logo on a sign," she said. "This is a hometown team and it should feel like one. I'm excited to get out and meet more of the local businesses and fans who make this team possible."
"Jaidyn made a real impression on our staff from her first weeks as an intern. She brought fresh ideas, she knows this community because she's from it, and she exceeded our expectations throughout the hiring process. James recommended her for this role, and we're glad he did. She's exactly the kind of person we want representing the Loggerheads," said Alec Allred, Owner of the Oak Island Loggerheads.
